Note:
The toy figure images shown on our website are intended solely as references for customization and are not available for purchase. As a professional ODM/OEM toy manufacturer, we focus on customizing and producing toy figures of comparable style. If you have an original figure design you’d like to produce, please reach out to us for a quotation.
A custom resin art figure is a solid, heavy collectible cast from liquid resin inside silicone molds: crisp sculpt lines, dense hand-polished surfaces, bright layered paint, and a cold stone-like feel that hollow vinyl cannot imitate. As an OEM/ODM manufacturer we run two doors into the same production chain. Through the OEM door you bring artwork, a 3D file, or a half-formed concept; we sculpt, engineer, cast and paint it, and the edition belongs to you alone. Through the ODM door you brief us on your market and pick a factory-original master from our sculpt library — adapting pose, Pantone palette, base and finish — or co-develop something new with our sculptors, then sell it under your own brand.
What makes resin manufacturing different from every other material we run is the economics of the mold. There is no steel tooling. Instead there is one master pattern — the true asset, archived for 7 years — and a population of silicone block molds poured from it, each rated for roughly 30 to 80 pulls before detail begins to soften. A 100 piece order runs through 2 to 4 molds. A 1,000 piece order runs through a family of 15 to 25. Edition consistency is therefore not luck: it is cavity IDs, pull counters, golden sample comparison, and retiring tired molds before they vote in your batch.
| Material | Surface & Detail | Cast & Cure Behavior | Best For | MOQ | Unit Price (250-999 pcs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cast polyurethane resin ★ Recommended | Sharpest detail of the family; crisp edges, fabric weave and skin texture survive painting | Low viscosity, vacuum-degassed and pressure-cured; minimal bubbles, predictable cure | Hero art figures, premium editions, detailed characters | 100 pcs | $6.50 - $19.00 |
| Epoxy casting resin | Optically clear when polished; detail sharp, slightly softer than PU | Slower cure; thick pours need exotherm management | Crystal and water effects, clear embeds, display columns | 100 pcs | $7.00 - $21.00 |
| Polystone (stone-filled resin) | Heaviest, stone-like cold feel; slightly softer corners from the powder fill | Casts well; porous surface needs a sealer before paint | Large grounded statues, monuments, maximum mass | 100 pcs | $8.00 - $24.00 |
| Cold-cast resin (metal powder) | Real bronze or iron surface after polishing and patina | Metal-loaded slurry; heavier castings, longer polishing | Gallery pieces, premium awards, metallic editions | 100 pcs | $10.00 - $28.00 |
| Injection PVC (conversion path) | Rigid, designed-for-plastic detail; multi-shot color blocks | Not a casting route — steel tooling, 1,000,000 shot mold life | Retail volume above roughly 3,000 pcs, blind-box lines | 1,000 - 2,000 pcs | $2.20 - $9.50 after tooling |
Recommendation: cast polyurethane resin is the default for art figures — best detail-to-weight-to-price balance and the friendliest paint surface. Move to polystone when the piece must feel massive, cold-cast when the finish is the product, epoxy for clear parts. And past roughly 3,000 pieces we will say so: that volume belongs to injection PVC with resin detail parts, not to 60 silicone molds. All prices are calibrated against the actual quotation before launch.
| Station | What Happens | Output & Acceptance | When It Matters Most |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Route intake | OEM files reviewed for wall thickness, undercuts and printability (stl / obj / fbx, or jpg / png / psd / ai concepts); ODM brief matched against the sculpt library | Engineering feedback sheet + firm quote within 24 hours | Every project — the cheapest place to fix a problem is before it exists |
| 2. Sculpt / master prep | OEM: your design rebuilt as a textured 3D sculpt with unlimited render rounds. ODM: library master selected and adapted (pose, palette, base) | Approved render set; for OEM the sculpt files are your property under NDA | Detail-heavy characters; anything with thin projections that need pin channels planned |
| 3. Master pattern | High-resolution print or CNC cut, then hand finished to a seamless surface — this one object is the edition's DNA | Sealed master, photographed from 12 angles, archived 7 years | Reorders — a preserved master means a reorder starts at casting, not sculpting |
| 4. Mold population build | Silicone block molds poured from the single master; 100 pcs needs 2 to 4 molds, 1,000 pcs needs 15 to 25; each gets a cavity ID | Mold family log: mold ID, pour date, rated pull life 30 to 80 | Volume orders — the mold count is sized so no mold is asked to outlive its rating |
| 5. Casting | Vacuum-degassed resin poured within timed pot life; pressure-pot cure collapses residual bubbles; solid or slush pour per volume and weight plan | Castings weighed against the sample tolerance; cure schedule logged per batch | Thick sections (exotherm control) and translucent colorways (bubble visibility) |
| 6. Trim & surface repair | Flash and vent removal, pinhole fill, 400 to 800 grit progressive polish; brass pin armatures seated in projections below 4 mm | Raking-light inspection; surfaces ready to take primer without witness marks | Figures with swords, fingers, raised hair — the classic resin weak points |
| 7. Prime & hand paint | Primer tie coat, Pantone-matched colors, masked spray for hard blocks, brush work for gradients and fine detail, matte / satin / gloss clear topcoat | Painted prototype (the golden sample) approved by you before edition casting begins | Street-style and graffiti finishes; any figure sold on its paintwork |
| 8. QC & mold log close-out | 2x magnification comparison against the golden sample, pull counters tallied, retiring molds flagged, batch record sealed | Every unit traceable to mold ID and pull number; batch record stored 7 years | The last 20% of any large edition — exactly where drift would otherwise hide |
Send references, target size, quantity and packaging — graphic files (jpg, png, psd, ai) or 3D files (stl, obj, fbx), or a two-line ODM brief. We confirm the route, material and mold budget in the same quote.
