This process squeezes toy-grade special ink through custom woven mesh screen stencils, depositing a thick, uniform ink film onto blank surfaces to create solid color blocks and regular flat graphics. Ink layer thickness ranges from 0.05–0.1 mm, delivering powerful coverage and saturated color layering that fully conceals base surface blemishes. With stable hourly output exceeding 500 pieces and low consumable expenses, it acts as our mainstream bulk coloring solution for standardized low-to-medium volume toy orders and flat toy packaging printing.

Disadvantages & Matching Solutions

Disadvantage 1: Unable to render delicate color gradients, subtle shadows and soft transitional layered tones
Solution: Adopt composite hybrid process matching. Use screen printing for large-area solid base color layers, then pair with UV printing or hand painting to add localized gradient transitions and shadow detailing. This balances uniform flat color and rich layered artistic effects.
Disadvantage 2: Poor conformability to curved, arched and uneven 3D surfaces; prone to hollow printing and uneven ink film thickness
Solution 1: Restrict screen printing exclusively to flat and mild low-curvature parts. For steep arched & fully 3D sculpted blanks, switch to heat transfer printing or water transfer printing.
Solution 2: For slightly curved components, deploy flexible mesh screens and adjustable squeegee pressure to fit subtle surface undulations and reduce hollow printing defects.
Disadvantage 3: New graphics require custom mesh stencil fabrication, leading to poor cost efficiency for small batches & frequent design changes

If you require intricate fine details and smooth gradients, we adopt a hybrid workflow: screen printing handles full base color coverage, while pad printing, UV printing or hand painting complete delicate decorative fine details.

Which toy substrates are compatible with screen printing?
Screen printing delivers stable consistent results on rigid flat substrates including ABS, hard PVC, vinyl, solid resin and natural solid wood. Fluffy plush fabric is incompatible: uneven loose fluff creates fuzzy, incomplete printed ink layers. Highly curved soft 3D sculpts are also not recommended, as they carry high risks of hollow incomplete printing.
