Process Introduction
Water Decal is a flexible, low-cost surface transfer coloring process widely used for vinyl toy, pvc figure, resin figure and wood figure prototype customization.
The production principle relies on pre-printed graphic decal films: the patterned carrier paper is fully soaked in clean water to separate the ink pattern layer from the base paper, then the floating thin graphic film is slid and positioned directly onto the surface of toy blanks.
Unlike pad printing and heat transfer printing, this process requires zero custom steel plates or molding tools for pattern production. Single-piece manual operation takes only 3–5 minutes, making it the most cost-effective choice for new product prototype sampling and small-batch orders with frequent style adjustments.

Water decals have ultra-low upfront costs with no plate-making or mold fees, which greatly cuts sampling expenses. Will water decals peel or bubble off after long-term play?
After pasting the decal, we apply a transparent protective topcoat for sealing. The sealed decal layer delivers strong friction resistance, anti-fading and anti-peeling performance under daily squeezing and rubbing. Without topcoat protection, edges may lift after long-term water soaking or intense abrasion.

Can water decals cooperate with spray painting for better layering?
Yes, this is our common composite process solution. We first use spray painting to finish the uniform base color of toys, then attach water decals with delicate cartoon patterns, logos and gradient details on top.
