How Vinyl Figurines are Made

Vinyl figurines (also known as designer toys) are usually made using a process called spin casting. The first step in the production process is to create a 3D model from a sketch of the toy using computer-aided design (3D Max) software. Once the model is complete, a PU sample is created using a 3D printer. The PU sample is then used to create a mold that is used to produce the final vinyl toy. The mold usually consists of two parts, each representing one half of the toy. Liquid vinyl is then filled into the mold, heated and rotated in the machine to evenly cover the inside of the mold. Once the vinyl has cooled and hardened, the mold is opened and the toy is removed. Excess vinyl is trimmed off and the toy is inspected for quality control. The final step is to apply paint and other finishing touches to the toy. Overall, the process of making vinyl toys requires a combination of artistry, engineering, and manufacturing expertise to create unique and eye-catching figurines.
