A vinyl collectible toy is a designer art toy made from soft vinyl, typically produced by rotocasting (rotational casting): liquid vinyl is poured into a heated hollow mold that slowly rotates, coating the walls evenly and curing into a hollow, lightweight figure. This is the craft behind Japanese sofubi ("soft vinyl") toys and most modern designer vinyl art toys.
Most vinyl collectible toys are marketed to adult collectors, but customs authorities and marketplaces still apply toy safety rules — especially if the figure could reach children under 14. We manufacture to the following standards and provide test reports with your order:
| Certification | Market | What It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| EN71-1/2/3 | EU | Mechanical & physical properties, flammability, migration of 19 heavy elements |
| CE marking | EU | Overall toy safety declaration under Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC |
| ASTM F963 + CPSIA | USA | American toy standard, lead content & phthalate limits (CPSIA section 108) |
| CPC (Children's Product Certificate) | USA | Required for Amazon listings targeting children |
| REACH / RoHS | EU & global | Chemical screening on vinyl compounds, paints & inks (SVHC) |
| ISO 9001 factory audit | Global | Documented QC process on every production run |
Rotocast vinyl is durable but hollow — a little care keeps a designer piece display-ready for years:
