A custom life-size PVC cartoon manga action figure is a display-grade character statue built at the character's true canon scale. The outer skin is rotocast (slush-cast) PVC at 4-8 mm wall — cast in silicone-and-fiberglass rotation molds because no injection press on earth runs a 1.7 m part — and it mounts over a welded steel tube frame with hidden bolt flanges that let the figure crate flat and assemble on site.
Life size means canon size, not always human size. A chibi mascot whose reference sheet says 70 cm is built at 70 cm; an adult manga character lands at 165-185 cm. And action at 1:1 means engineered pose, not articulation — a raised arm is a cantilever on an internal rod, a mid-leap pose hangs on a hidden column, because a jointed figure this size is a costume or an animatronic, not a display statue.

Custom design process
- Brief and canon-scale lock. Send the character reference (model sheet, key art, turnaround), the venue plan and the target quantity. We lock official height — or agree one — and sign NDA for licensed IP before any file moves.
- Desktop maquette (7 working days). A painted 20-40 cm maquette locks pose, face and colorway while changes are still cheap. This is the sign-off gate before any 1:1 work starts.
- Full-scale sculpt and section plan. The approved maquette scales up to a true 1:1 ZBrush sculpt, and engineering releases the section plan: cut lines, flanges, frame loads and crate dimensions.
- 1:1 painted master (10-15 working days). Master build, full paint and a trial stand in our workshop. You receive photo and video sign-off — or visit the floor in Shenzhen for the reveal.
- Molds and batch casting (35-42 days). Rotation molds per section, slush-cast PVC shells, steel frame fabrication in parallel. Fleet units cast in batches after the first unit ships.
- Finish, verify, crate, ship (14-22 days). Paint, full trial assembly, anti-tip verification, custom crating per section, hardware and touch-up kits, sea freight 25-40 days or air 3-5 days for replacement sections.
Application scenarios
- Retail storefront and window displays. A life-size character in the window converts foot traffic; chains roll the same figure across every store with the flat-crate logistics built for exactly that.
- Mall IP installations and photo spots. The anchor of a themed zone — kids hug it, families photograph it, social feeds do the marketing. Anchoring and crowd-load specs are written for this case.
- Game, anime and movie launches. Lobby and premiere photo moments for the launch window, then redeployed to retail or touring — the 3-6 section build exists so one figure can work three venues in a year.
- Theme parks and family entertainment centers. Meet-and-greet scale statues at photo points, with FRP or plush-skin upgrades where interaction is heavy.
- Trade show and exhibition booths. A booth centerpiece that crates flat, installs in under an hour and outdraws banner walls — built for touring schedules.
- Corporate lobbies, showrooms and museums. Brand mascot at reception or the hero of a product gallery, finished to automotive-show grade for flagship programs.
Care and maintenance
- Display out of direct sun where possible — the UV clear coat slows fading but does not stop it; rotate window figures every few months.
- Keep away from heat above 60 °C — closed storefront windows in summer and close-range halogen spots both soften PVC.
- Always move with two people, by the torso and base — never drag by an arm, the head or a raised prop.
- Dust with a microfiber cloth; never use abrasives, magic erasers or scrubbing pads on painted surfaces.
- Never apply alcohol, acetone or household cleaners to the airbrushed face or gradient paint.
- Check anchor bolts after installation, then monthly in high-traffic venues — retorque with the supplied wrench.
- Keep section-joint bolts torqued to the printed spec; over-tightening PVC flanges cracks them, under-tightening lets seams walk.
- Touch up chips only with the color-matched kit shipped in the crate — off-the-shelf paint will not match and can attack the clear coat.
- Store disassembled in the original crates; the EVA cradle blocks are cut to hold each section for exactly this.
- Indoor display is the design default; semi-outdoor requires the weather package and a sheltered position, and full outdoor calls for the FRP build instead.
- For fleet operators: log each unit's install date and venue — the anti-tip verification record travels with the unit and venue managers will ask for it.

How tall is life size for my character?
Life size means the character's canon height, not always human height. A chibi or mascot character whose reference sheet says 70 cm gets a 70 cm figure; a teen manga character gets 140-160 cm; an adult character gets 165-185 cm; a giant-spec character is quoted straight from the reference sheet. Our four standard bands are 60-90 cm mascot, 100-120 cm half-scale teen, 140-160 cm teen full and 165-185 cm adult full. If your IP has no official height, we lock it at the maquette stage in the 7 working day design prototype, before any 1:1 master is built.

How does a life-size figure ship and how hard is installation?
The figure ships disassembled in custom wooden crates - one crate per section, with EVA cradle blocks, the hardware kit, a torque wrench, a touch-up paint kit and a printed installation guide. Sea freight runs 25-40 days and the flat-crate strategy keeps volume (and freight cost) far below what an assembled figure would cost to ship. Installation is a 30-60 minute job for two people with basic hand tools: stand the base, bolt the legs, torso, arms and head flanges in sequence, torque to spec, and anchor the base plate to the floor. On-site installation supervision is available for flagship installations.

Will it tip over if a crowd leans on it?
Every figure is anchored, not just freestanding. The base plate carries concealed anchor points for floor bolts, and an optional weighted plinth adds 10-30 kg low in the structure. Before shipping we run an anti-tip verification - a 15 degree tilt test plus a lateral crowd-contact load on the highest point (the head or a raised arm), because that is the real-world worst case in a mall or store. A 165-185 cm figure passes at 35-60 kg total weight with the base anchored. If your venue forbids floor drilling, we design a wider weighted plinth instead and re-run the verification.

Can it stand in a storefront window or semi-outdoor?
Indoors, always. Storefront windows are fine with the UV package: UV-inhibited clear coat over the PU paint system, which slows (but does not stop) fading, so we still recommend rotating window figures out of direct sun every few months. Semi-outdoor (a covered entrance, a shaded plaza) needs the weather package: the UV clear coat, a flame-retardant paint system for public-interior fire codes, and sealed section joints. Full outdoor exposure with rain and direct sun is not recommended for PVC - for that venue class we quote a fiberglass (FRP) shell build instead.

Why rotocast PVC instead of fiberglass or PE at this scale?
Rotocast PVC is our default because it holds the best detail-per-weight-per-dollar at 1:1: sharp face and costume lines, a 4-8 mm shell that survives crowd contact with flex instead of cracking, and a weight that two people can still install. Fiberglass (FRP) is stronger and stiffer but heavier and brittle under impact - right for high-traffic venues and full outdoor, wrong if the figure gets bumped often. Rotational-molded PE is nearly indestructible (playground-grade) but softens every edge and loses fine manga linework. EVA-foam-over-frame is the lightweight parade variant.
